D of E Silver expedition in the Peak District. The teams covered 30 miles in the 3
days which started in Edale and finished near Ladybower reservoir’s. The teams route
plans were passed by the assessor and routes covered with no problems. The camp
sites stayed on were at Edale, Castleton and North Lees.
May
Camping at Buckmore Park in Kent made a great base for an active weekend of events.
The highlight being a session of go karting at Buckmore’s famous track. We also
visited Brands Hatch to watch some motor racing. In our spare time ! we went
tobogganing ,the cinema , and visited a Morris Men convention in Stroud.
June
Our annual trip to Littlehampton for an evening BBQ and ice cream, and if you are still
hungry chips.
July
Annual backwoods weekend – It’s so relaxing. The site we are able to use is deep in
West Sussex with not a house for miles.
August
International trip to Switzerland with Venture Abroad staying in the Mountain Hostel
Grindlewald. The photos speak for themselves. It was so good that we aim to go back
in 2006.
September
Who needs sleep, well not much was gained at this weekend. Friday – Disco evening,
Saturday - Visit to Thorpe park theme park followed by evening themed party and disco.
Sunday - eventually get up and go home. All this was organised by Farnham Network and
