Gilwell 24
31 Explorer Scouts and 4 leaders spent 24 hours at Gilwell,
the HQ of the UK Scout movement.
There were all types of activities which the Explorer could take part in over the 24 hours

Silver Expedition
3 Explorers Scouts who could not make the April expedition to the Peak District, plus 2 other explorers for there Silver Expedition  walked from Farnham to Guildford the first day, then Guildford to Bentley Copse on the second day and then on the final day from Bentley Copse to Godalming.

D of E Bronze Expedition
D of E Bronze Expedition on the Isle of Wight. After catching the hovercraft from Portsmouth to Ryde and the island train, 3 teams set off on their own routes on a 2 day, 15 mile weekend. During the weekend the assessors caught up with the groups at various points to ensure they were following their route plans. The Explorers spent the night at Ventnor, after breakfast and taking down the tents the teams started their final day’s walk.
