Phoenix and Pegasus units Ten Pin bowling at Guildford
It started with a District Archery evening, then followed by Haggis and some poems at our
Burns Night celebration, after this it was swede football (a bit painful on the feet)
the evening was finished off with a sleep over in Haslemere Scout HQ.
Then on Saturday morning alter some bacon butties, it’s off on a train to London for our Annual day trip.
After arriving at Waterloo (after a quick trip to the loo for some) it was onto a tube to Greenwich for a walk under the Thames and the enrollments. After lunch in Greenwich back on a tube to Camden to have a look at the markets. After another ride on a tube we were back at Waterloo for some food and a trip home.

D of E Practice Expedition on the Southdowns.
The Explorers meet at 8.45am on a Saturday morning at Haslemere railway station for a trip on a train to
Rowlands Castle for the start of their two day practice expedition.
It was on with their rucksacks and off on their first day of hiking to West Dean Scout camp site.
It was a wet day of hiking on the Southdown's but their waterproof withstood the rain and hailstones , when they arrived at the West Dean it was up with their tents, out with the cooking stoves and on with their evening meals.
After some sleep and once their tents and kit were packed away they were off on their final hike to Midhurst where they were picked up by their parents.
April
D of E Silver Expedition in the Peak District
10 Explorers, 4 Leaders and 4 cars set out on our annual D of E Expedition to the Peak District. We left Camelsdale at
10.30am on Wednesday and arrived at out camp site at 4.00pm after a visit to the Derwent Reservoir (One of the sites
where 617 Squadron “The Dambusters” practiced their low level bombing runs due to its similarity to the German dams)
After a very cold night, we awoke to find the hills and tent had a light covering of snow. Thursday morning the first group went of to Carlswark Cavern for their 1 ½ hour trip underground, the other group spent the morning in Bakewell and then they swapped over at 12 noon, both groups came out of the cave muddy and wet but they had a great time.
Friday morning was the start of their expedition 30 miles over 3 days.
