Skip’s Surprise Leaving Party

Over 90 people came along to Skip’s farewell party, from people who were involved in Scouting in Haslemere, 41 years ago to some of the Explorers from the first Pegasus unit back in 2002, and some of the current  Explorers.

The evening finished off with David being presented with a album the celebrated David’s 41 years in Scouting in the Haslemere District, it was full of photos from David as a Scout (with hair) to Explorer Scouts event over the last 5 years. We also took photos of the people at the party, stuck them in the book (photos not the people)  and they could then write some next to their photo about memories they had of David’s time in Scouting . David was also presented with a tankard from Camlesdale Scouts and a walking stick from David’s Co Leader back when David had hair.

 

With out David’s leadership and enthusiasm, Haslemere District Explorer Scout would not have got of  the ground in 2002 and since grown into a very successful Explorer unit over the last 5 years
