Switzerland 2008

Thursday 28th

Today we caught the gondola up to the top of Mannlichen, a cable car down the other side to Wengen, followed by a train ride, a bus journey and a ride in a cable car to Murren. After a gentle walk and some lunch we caught a cable car back down to Lauterbrunnen  and the explorer then had free time, some went back for more swimming, but the leaders and a few explorers got on a train to Kleine Scheidegg for a hard earned rest looking at the wonderful views (being a leader is so hard work)

 

 

 

Friday 29th

Today the Explorers have a free day, they had to plan what they were going to do, find out the times of the transport they needed to catch and then go out and have a great day.

The leaders went on the steam train to the top of the Rothorn for lunch, then 4 of the leaders caught the Paddle steam back to Interlaken, while Skip and David caught the train back to Interlaken to meet the Explorers out side MacDonalds so we could feed them, after this they had free time and had to be back at the hostel by 10.30pm. The leaders went back to Grindelwald for a meal in the local restaurant.

 

 

 

Saturday 30th

Our last full day in Switzerland, so off we went and caught a cable car up the side of a mountain were we went tobogganing. They then had free time in Grindelwald and yes more swimming at least they went back home clean.

 

 

Sunday 31st

Our last day, bags all packed, clearing all done and photos taken, so it’s off for some pizza and then the long

journey  home.
