The Expeditions and what we will be looking out for

2: Using the map and compass to complete the route.

3: Knowing where you are at all times (we will be checking at a number of points along your route)

4: When reaching the camp site, prioritise what needs to be done first and work as a team.
.  A: Get the tent up B: Get you gear stored away and set up bedding.
.   C: Cook evening meal, eat and wash up. (when preparing and cooking meal  please make sure all
.   empty bags and food wrappers are placed in a empty carrier bag)  D:  Prepare kit for next day.
.   (Use the showers late afternoon or early evening, rather then first thing in the morning the
.   outside temperature is usually a lot warmer)

5: Before going to bed make sure no kit is left outside.

6: In the morning again prioritize what needs to be done. A: If wet get your waterproofs on before
.   getting out of the tent. B: Cook breakfast, eat and wash up. C: Check your gear is in your rucksack
.   and you have plenty of water, food and waterproofs if you are not already wearing them.

7: Get together with your team; look at the route you are walking; decide which team member is map
.    reading first and to what point; who is map reading 2nd, 3rd, etc.

8: Check that the team has the group kit in their rucksacks, cooking equipment, tent, survival bag,  .
    first aid kit.

9: Make sure none of your kit is left outside the tent and that the tent door is done up.

Points 6c, 8 and 9 are for if we have a base camp. If not, the tents have to come down and be packed into the rucksacks as well.
